A page devoted to my writing. The vast majority of which will be fiction, mostly science fiction or fantasy – or some bastard child of the two. I’m not yet quite sure how I will lay it out or what will meet my upload criteria, but I’m planning on adding my Whateley Independent Fiction (WhatIF) as and when I publish it to the Crystal Hall site. However all my fiction posted here will have this as it’s home. And I plan on migrating everything I have ever published to here so it’s all in one place.

• Whately Academy Universe (WhatIF)
  • Published. To be brought here:
    • Astral 1
    • Skaði 1 & 2 – Undergoing a rewrite so could be considered a new publication.
  • At some stage of being done:
    • Hoodoo 1 & 2 (Concerning my Arcane/Jinx crossover character, written to try and calm the angst in my heart having watched the first half of series one.)
  • Not ready for the limelight:
    • Briar – Undergoing another rewrite to pull her entirely from her origins and into effectively a new character sharing only powers idea with the original who will be fleshed out and expended for my own IP.
    • Dwarf – Percolating round my brain, loosely based on the characters and world created by Michael Scott Rohan in his Winter of the World sequence.
    • Skaði – Not well received when originally posted and undergoing a slow rewrite. I preferred my original version as it set out much of the back story I was planning on using as a common thread through several of my characters. I suspect that her origin will be significantly changed again before there is anything worth posting anywhere.
    • Old One – Still rolling around my brain, what if one of the students from the original school (that Whateley is built on) were to somehow travel forwards in time to become a student in the new version of the school. I kind of like the idea of trying to fit an early 20th century raised teen into a 21st century school. That fact that she will also interact with various prominent suffragettes should perhaps add some flavour to the story. The fact that I am planning on setting the original in New Hampshire, with a turn of the century protagonist is slowing it down as it’s not an ear I know too much about – not from a US centric viewpoint anyway.
  • Ideas too numerous to list for characters that will probably never see light of day.
• Back Catalogue:
  • A number of stories that I published under the name JC on the Bigcloset in or around 2005. These are all Transgender focussed (as in truth are many of my stories). I will not be moving the unfinished stories over, or finishing them. I wrote them too long ago, and no longer feel I can do them justice.
  • I have a number of older stories that might be published here, in the future (or might not) that would need some work but are functionally complete, many of these include bits and pieces that were complete then got orphaned as stories evolved and changed.
• My Own IPs
  • These are the stories that I am planning on turning into proper novels, whether or not I ever get them published properly I do have a few ideas that I am working my way through. Some of the characters started life as characters within other IPs, for instance I have a character that started out as a character I was planning on taking to Whateley, but for one reason or another her back story became far more interesting than becoming a super hero. The character that she became is currently being rewritten for Whateley, and the character she started out as will be rewritten as a major protagonist in this IP (for which I don’t have a useful name yet).
    I have a number more that all float around in my brain and will need expressing at some point (or giving up on).
