Woe Woe Woe

New Bike

So the bike I bought around a month ago is dead, I’ve had issues with it since it arrived and so far they have all been resolved eventually. But the latest issue seems to be with the electronics (at least I can’t understand how it could be anything but them) and so the bike needs to go to a specialist who can diagnose and or repair Yamaha based eBikes, my two local bike shops can’t.

The easiest to get to providing I have motor transport would either be Kendal or Lancaster, Kendal has Mapdec of YouTube fame and Lancaster has a couple. Lancaster is slightly easier to get to if I had a functional bike, Kendal I’m more likely to be able to get a lift to. Tredz will cover the cost of the repair (under warranty) either way but getting to actually get there is harder.

Until then:

Old Bike

My venerable Voodoo Hoodoo that I picked up last year for £50 would be the replacement, but after taking it out now I have to wonder how I ever enjoyed riding it anywhere. It is so small and cramped, due to the old style shape of it my saddle is higher than the handlebars so I am always leaning forward…

It’s just so uncomfortable, so it’s back in the barn I doubt that I will be using it again, which is sort of sad as I did have a lot of fun on it last year. I had been planning on turning it into a gravel type bike, but that won’t be happening now.

And Then

Tredz are sending me a box to send the eBike back to them in, but the turn round on that would be 2-3 weeks, which is too long to be without transportation. And I don’t have any way to get the bike up to Kendal, so I’m pretty miserable. I suppose like anything I ever do it was good while it lasted and now it’s all gone to shit. Wish I’d never bought it…
